Silvia is fantastic!
Silvia was absolutely fantastic! She was patient (we were a few minutes late for our tour time), she was extremely informed, she relayed information in an amusing and easy-to-relate to fashion and she was just a pleasure to spend a few hours with. The way to see Rome!!!!
This is the way to see Rome! we toured the Vatican with Silvia in February 2024. She made this experience truly unforgettable. Her knowledge of everything is immense yet the tour is fascinating, really really interesting. She made the tour personable and held our attention the whole time. I wish I booked more tours with her! We traveled with two small children, ages 8 and 5, and I was worried they would get bored but they were great. She told them stories as well as us. I highly highly recommend! Outstanding Tour with Silvia
Silvia Poggiani made our tour of the Colosseum and Palatine/Forum a truly marvelous and unforgettable experience. She paid particular attention to our 10-year-grandson, engaging him with humor and fascinating historical narratives. We have done several guided tours over the years in Italy and elsewhere. Seeing the Eternal City with new eyes
Last time I was in Rome I was amazing by all that I saw but also knew there was so much more to see and learn. When I asked friends to recommend a guide, one immediately replied, "There is no one better than Silvia." Boy was he right. Silvia showed and taught us so much—about Ancient Rome and throughout the Borghese Gallery and The Vatican. Just a little more than a week after our return, I'm still marveling at all she shared. Felt like spending the day with a Friend!
We spent the day with Sylvia last week for ancient Rome and Vatican tours and were beyond happy that we did. She is extremely well versed with the history but beyond that it felt like we were with a friend rather than a hired guide. I had a health challenge going on and she was very patient and understanding and adjusted to accommodate me. Seemingly with just a nod or gesture to gatekeepers at each stop she moved us smoothly past the very long lines for those without such a professional guide. Cannot recommend her more strongly. Vatican / Colloseum / Forum Tour
Our group spent 2 days with Siliva at the Vatican and the Colloseum/Form. Silvia's historical knowledge is amazing and her personality made this an awesome experience for all of us. Excellent personalised tour of key Roman historical sites
We met Silvia early in the morning for the Vatican Museums tour, then proceeded to the Sistine Chapel, St Peter’s Basilica, Colosseum and Roman Forum. Silvia is very warm and friendly. Her knowledge of art history and Roman history is outstanding - she really brought the sites to life for us. A Perfect Tour of the Borghese Galleries
Silvia guided us through the Borghese Galleries. I loved the tour. She is extremely knowledgeable and thorough. She revealed facts and information about the structure, the various works of art and stories about the artists that made our tour a very rich experience. In addition, she is a kind and loveIy person. Highly recommend a private Roma tour with Silvia
You will have the best time with Silvia. She knows so much about the history and culture of Rome and she enjoys what she does. She is a great planner and managed to get us tickets to the underground portion of the colosseum. She makes it all so seamless and you dont have to worry about getting lost or missing your appointment times. You walk, and talk like old friends. She has set tours but can also customize based on what you want to see. Highly recommend. Terrific Experience!
We met early at the Vatican Museum and were first in the “skip the line” line. While we waited to enter, Silvia filled us in on the background we would need to make the many connections when we entered. Also because we were early, we were able to take pictures in many of the rooms with no one else present. Silvia is a wealth of knowledge with a wonderful sense of humor, respect and consideration. She is also a Roman and shared the experience of growing up and living in this amazing place. As such, her historical perspective runs from antiquity to present times. She also took time to solicit and answer our many questions. We couldn’t ask for a better guide. She is truly stellar!
